Everyone in the mold industry knows that common types of precision injection molds include: two-plate mold structure, three-plate mold structure, and hot runner mold structure. What are the three types?
1. Advantages of two-plate molds:
Two-plate molds are the most common, with simple structure, diverse forms, and easy maintenance
The gate forms of two-plate molds include direct glue injection, edge gates, latent gates, bull horn gates, lap gates, disc gates, fan gates, radial gates, etc.
2. Disadvantages of two-plate molds:
Except for latent and bull horn gates, two-plate molds require subsequent processing to remove the gates
Advantages of three-plate molds:
The gate form of three-plate molds is only point gates
The gate marks left by three-plate molds on the product are small. It can be molded without traces
The gate of the three-plate mold does not need to be removed extra
Disadvantages of the three-plate mold:
The runner of the three-plate mold is relatively long, which requires a longer cooling time, that is, a longer molding cycle
The three-plate mold consumes more materials
The three-plate mold is relatively complex in structure
The hot runner mold is basically the same as the two-plate mold without looking at the runner system, but from the runner system, the hot runner is another type of injection mold.
The hot runner is divided into an insulating hot runner system and a heated hot runner system.
The insulating hot runner is made of a material with a very low thermal conductivity around the runner, and the surrounding is insulated with molten plastic.
The heated hot runner controls the temperature of the runner through a temperature sensor and a heating plate on the runner as a whole. Deformation of the hot runner mold: The hot nozzle can be put into the cold runner and converted into a hot-to-cold mode. The hot runner can set the ejection system on the mother mold side, that is, a flip mold (commonly used in two-color molds).
The hot runner can realize the stacking of the mold, that is, the stacking mold. That is, two sets of molds are stacked head to head, sharing a runner to feed materials from the molding machine, and different ejection systems eject the products when the mold is opened.
